I'm glad you found us.

There is no greater drama than what can be generated by teenagers, especially in a blended family.  I love working with teens, pre-teens young adults and their families.  Everything is new to them – everything is for the first time.  And so, they especially, are highly emotional and vacillate between over-reaction and sullen withdrawal.  As a Certified Teen Life Coach I am able to offer a unique coaching experience, designed especially for teens, pre-teens and young adults and their families, minus any objections, worry or stigma over “having to do therapy.”  In every session you and your teen will learn new coping skills and gain a new and different perspective of what’s going on in their life.  Over-reactions will decrease, and a new, calmer understanding will emerge in your house.

What Can You Expect From Family/Teen Coaching?

A better parent-teen relationship, better grades, improved sports performance and a happier, more confident teenager is all possible with an experienced Certified Teen Life Coach.   I don’t judge.  I couldn’t.  I have lived through abuse, addiction, death, depression, divorce and financial hardships – my own, as well as family and friends.    I have survived various forms of coaching and counseling, so I appreciate the view from your side of the room.  Just know, during times of emotional confusion and uncertainty, you don’t have to be alone when figuring out what is best to do.

My Educational Background and Affiliations

I am a proud member of the very first Teen Wisdom ™ Life Coach Certification graduating class, I hold a Doctorate of Holistic Life Counseling from the University of Sedona, a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and, I hold additional counseling certifications in batterers’ intervention, domestic violence counseling, grief recovery treatment and guided imagery therapy.   I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT), and the AAMFT Queer Advocacy Group, the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT)  a member of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association (GLMA) a Mentor for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and a Clinical Supervisor to Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (formerly known as Interns).  I have participated in numerous Orange County Sheriff programs at both Laguna Beach High School and San Clemente High School, and the BILY program at San Clemente High School.  AND, since 2015, I have worked in the addiction recovery field, and thus have hands on experience with addiction and 12-step programs.

My full legal name is HeleneMickey Wilson, but Teen Centered clients call me Coach Mickey.  My California State License is issued and overseen by the Board of Behavioral Science. ( https://search.dca.ca.gov/)  My licensed number, issued by that government agency is 49203.
